The Carolina Miracle League serves physically and mentally challenged children. The Carolina Miracle League is a non-profit organization founded in 2001 to build a baseball diamond tailored to the special needs of children with disabilities. These facilities feature a baseball field covered in synthetic surface that accommodates wheelchairs and walkers. In May 2006, the CML announced the site for the new field to be located at the Spartanburg County Parks and Recreation Department's North Spartanburg Sports Complex on Old Furnace Road in Boiling Springs. The Carolina Miracle League diamond will serve children with disabilities not only in Spartanburg County, but children from Union and Cherokee Counties in South Carolina and Rutherford and Polk Counties in North Carolina. We are also looking for coaches and “buddies” who are able-bodied children and adults willing to assist each of our Miracle League children as they play their baseball games. Please contact us if you are interested in being a coach or a “buddy.” To get involved with the Carolina Miracle League and to learn more about the history of the CML, visit our website at www.carolinamiracleleague.com or call 864-579-1805. Donations may be made directly to the Spartanburg County Foundation for the Carolina Miracle League Development Fund, a 501 (c) (3) fund.
